DGP's Award for Initiatives

DGP announced in the meeting held on 20.04.2009, that he has instituted an award called "DGP's Award for Initiatives". This award will be given to officers of any rank who display commendable initiatives in preventing crime, control on criminals, economy in expenditure and improvement in police administration and police working. The officers were asked to take note of such police initiatives. Officers who display initiative of above mentioned type be recommended for the award. The award will be given during crime and administrative meetings held at regular intervals by the DGP. In this meeting one award was given to Shri B.Satheesh Balan IPS, SP Jind for understanding the criminals' behaviour in his district and going all out against them. The award has also been given for deep commitment and dedication to duty in tackling crime and criminals. The second award was given to Shri Ram Kumar DSP (Off. Commandant 2nd Bn. HAP) for showing extraordinary initiatives in understanding the financial procedures in Police purchases and taking effective steps in controlling expenditure; thereby making sound contribution in saving the precious Govt. money.
